Batticaloa Tamil temple Wedding Candid photography
In September 2024, we had the wonderful opportunity to travel to the charming Batticaloa town to celebrate an exceptionally beautiful Tamil wedding. After spending a decade visiting Sri Lanka for travel and capturing stunning photography at numerous Colombo weddings, I found that this particular wedding stood out as an intimate yet extraordinarily joyous celebration of the couple's love. As a dedicated photographer, it provided me with numerous memorable situations and genuine moments to capture through my lens.
The traditional Batticaloa Tamil-style wedding was skilfully documented by Me (Anbujawahar) alongside Sarujan and Nishanthan Thiru's talented videography team at the picturesque Tamil temple located in Batticaloa town. Hailing from the vibrant Batticaloa area, situated in the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka, the couple had met through family connections and gradually developed a deep and meaningful love for one another.
The eagerly anticipated wedding day unfolded as a heartfelt representation of their enduring bond, steeped in the rich cultural customs and time-honored traditions characteristic of a Batticaloa-style ceremony.
We also shot a tiny session of post-wedding couple photography at Navaladi Beach, Batticaloa, just after the reception on the same day. Here are some of the beautiful pictures we've captured from this lovely session. The beach area here is very clean, with stunning bottle green colored water that created an inviting ambiance, enhancing the overall feel of the pictures along with the couple's intimate moments following the end of their wedding day.
